TERAPIA GESTALT

AIM: to encourage the individual to take control over their life, to be the writer of their own story and thus responsible for creating and managing their own well-being & happiness.

In gestalt therapy the relationship between the therapist and the client is key: the therapist accompanies, guides, helps, comfortsand often also challenges the individual so that they can achieve fulfillment and a state of awareness and blissfulness with their life and the choices.

When to seek consultation?

A therapeutic process can be beneficial to deal with an endless number of issues and problems: such as family, love and work relationships, sexuality, lack of self-confidence, life goals. Also in case of physical sickness, burnout, stress, anxiety, etc…

A bit of history and context:

Gestalt therapy emerged in Germany in the 1940s as an alternative to certain psychotherapies such as Freud’s (focused on unresolved experiences and issues from childhood).

Gestalt is based, among others, on the postulate that we are not determined by our life stories.

We have the ability of changing the way we see our personal story and decide on what we don’t want in our lives anymore: Defining and creating your own life is possible.

It adopts a systemic vision that sees the individual as part of a whole whole system which is in constant changing process.

Only ones own personal change will cause the environment to change as well.

The IFAS approach : An Integrative Gestalt Therapy:

The notion of Integrative Gestalt presents an important evolution in relation to the original Gestalt. Integrative Gestalt – like Perls – believes that it is important to observe each experience and/or individual with the notion of a “blank page”, but integrating the idea that we all have a past and the story that comes with it that develops more or less satisfactorily during our childhood and adolescence from which certain beliefs, representations of ourselves and the world around us, stem.

Integrative Gestalt proposes looking for the meeting points between our past and our present in order to recognize our mechanisms of reproduction and/or sabotage, thus transforming them thanks to a Fixing process.

You can start a deeply transformative healing process right now, which will allow you to choose freely in coherence with our true self and our intrinsic needs.

Integrative Gestalt Therapy will also integrate certain psychoanalytical theories, the most recent research in the field of neuroscience, and meditation techniques, among others.
